We met at San Francisco State while we were both in undergrad, but didn't connect until spring 2017 when Ana was asked to fill in for a role last minute in that years opera, Die Fledermaus. During the course of that week, we got to know each other on a deeper level and we just never looked back. We fell fast, and hard. We couldn't have wished for better best friends and partners.

Note from Ana: Carlos wanted to make our fourth anniversary something special, and boy oh boy, did he! With the year anniversary of the lockdown approaching, we could have fallen into a sad space, but we wanted to make our anniversary fun. It was a beautiful day, starting out with a picnic and ending at my apartment where we exchanged our gifts. Carlos said he had a present to show me. He gather a few of my closest friends to say a couple reasons why they loved me. He also, with his magical powers, contacted one of my favorite living composers, Libby Larsen, to say a few words as well. At the end of her message, she said "I will turn this over to Carlos who has something to ask you..." and the rest... well, you know what happened! I said "OF COURSE!"
