Many think Carlos and I met through the Harris County Sheriff's Office Explorers program… However, we didn’t. We actually met through Instagram, in 2013. The story goes like this… Carlos sent me three friend request and I kept DENYING his requests. Next thing you know, I am scrolling through my Instagram feed I see a picture of some Mexican street tacos. I double tapped the picture, and clicked on the profile. As I am scrolling through his page I said, "ouuuuuu he’s kind of cuteee." (Till this day I don't know how his friend request was accepted) The taco picture thread went a little bit like this: Me: They look good! Carlos: Yes they are Me: We should go grab some! Carlos: I just ate Me: -_- (K, goodbye) I guess you can say I hit on him first kinda; and he rejected me. So I had to play hard to get, and ignored him for a little while... I eventually gave him my number; and we texted back and forth. Weeks later, I finally decided to say yes to going out on a date with him. We met for the first time in person at the Marque movie theatre. As I was getting out of my truck the first thing out of Carlos mouth was, "Oh my God you're short." Oh and the movie we watched was called Sabotage. ( I had to put this in here because he always claims I forget) After several dates; he finally asked me to be his girlfriend. Not to mention I was half asleep, but that is a story for another time. Fun fact: Till' this day, he's yet to take me to that taco stand!
The past nine years have been a roller coaster... We began our careers together, went on several trips, got two dogs Zoey and April (our adorable fur-babies), bought our first home in 2017 (sold it), bought our second home in 2020, lost loved ones, transferred divisions, spent many holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and many more special occasions away from one another. Not to mention we postponed our wedding in 2020, due to the COVID - 19 pandemic. The list goes on needless to say, we've been through hell and back. Yet, here we are ready to open a new chapter in our lives.
