Carlos and Aaliyah meet through mutual friends, and a broken down car, while attending their first semester at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi in 2018. Since then, they have gone on many adventures including getting their sweet puppy Ellie, going to Disney World, and seeing some of our favorite artists together.

On the last day of their summer vacation, Aaliyah and Carlos, along with his family, spent the day in New Orleans, Louisiana. They attended mass at the St. Louis Cathedral, and then went to take pictures overlooking the river and Jackson Square. However, Aaliyah didn't know that this would in fact be the place that Carlos was going to propose to her. In fact, everyone knew this was happening including Aaliyah's family, and Carlos' immediate family and friends. They were the last set of pictures to be taken, and while posing, Carlos dropped down to one knee and asked Aaliyah to marry him. She immediately started crying, to no ones surprise, and excitingly said yes!
