What’s happening at this party?
Answer
We’ll be celebrating love, eating, drinking, dancing, and catching up with old friends. No ceremony (we’re already married), no speeches (maybe a short one at the top), just a good time with great oldies.

Where is this all taking place?
Answer
Nowadays NYC is a big music venue & event space in Ridgewood, Queens - just over the county line from Brooklyn. There will be a free coat check, ample seating, and delicious food & drink.

Will it be indoors or outdoors?
Answer
The first hour of the party will be in an outdoor shaded area, and the rest of the evening we’ll be indoors in the A/C. The venue will be setting up a few picnic tables for those who wish to eat outside. Brooklyn gets buggy in the summer, so we’ll provide ample bug spray. Carly’s sweet blood will be distracting the majority of the mosquitos anyway.

What should I wear?
Answer
Whatever will make you feel most comfortable and celebratory! NY in the summertime is typically hot and humid, so dress accordingly. For reference, Carly will be wearing a light dress, with 1-2 strategic costume changes throughout the evening for optimal dancing, and Ross will be wearing a fun suit situation. Bolo ties, platform heels, jumpsuits, ponchos, disco ball accessories…all welcome & encouraged.

What will the weather be like?
Answer
Probably hot! We’ll be outdoors for about an hour, in the shade, and then indoors with the A/C pumping for the remainder.

What time should we get there? When should we leave?
Answer
Our party starts at 4, with casual drinks and snacks outside. We’ll say a quick welcome and head indoors for dancing & buffet dinner at 5. We’ll have the space until 9pm, at which point folks can absolutely head home if they like. For those wishing to after-party with us, all guests get free entry into the scheduled show that night at Nowadays - which goes until the wee hours.

How do I get to the venue? Will transportation be provided?
Answer
We will not be providing transpo, but the venue is easily accessible by Lyft/Uber, subway, bus, Revel scooter, CitiBike…please check our Travel page for more specific info.

Can I bring my kids?
Answer
We seriously love your kids, but this party is going to be adults-only so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

What type of food and drink will be served?
Answer
Light snacks and beer/wine/sodies during the welcome hour, then a buffet dinner with open bar. There is a food truck onsite and cash bar for after-party times.

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What's the best way to let you know?

We’ll provide ample options accommodating myriad dietary restrictions, but please reach out to us directly if you have a specific concern!

Yes! Many alcoholic and non-alcoholic options on offer.

Where should we stay?
Answer
There are tons of great AirBnBs in Brooklyn & Ridgewood, and a number of nice hotels within a ~30 min drive or train ride. Please check the Travel page of our website to see some easily accessible neighborhoods and hotels where we’ve arranged discounts.

What's the best way to RSVP?

We’ll be sending physical RSVP cards via snail mail so keep an eye out for those. Please let us know if you don’t get yours in the coming weeks.

It’s a pretty sleepy town so please ask us for recommendations ;) We've outlined a few on the Things To Do page.

Will there be any other events to attend over the weekend?
Answer
We are planning a welcome event Friday afternoon/early evening, so please let us know if you can attend when you RSVP!

What health and safety measures will you be taking during the event?
Answer
Nowadays requires (as do we!) that you be fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine, and show proof of full vaccination at the time of entry. The entire staff will be vaccinated as well. We’ll provide disposable masks for anyone who needs them, and the venue is taking every measure to clean and sanitize the space. As of now the venue is asking that all guests wear a mask while ordering from the bar or food truck or while entering shared areas like the bathroom, regardless of your vaccine status. We’ll keep this page updated with changes to this policy as they happen.

How will you communicate any updated information and/or changes before the party?
Answer
While we don’t anticipate any big changes (postponements, cancellations…) at this time, we’ll of course email the whole crew if and when those come up!
