Known as the "Birthplace of Minnesota" and one of Minnesota's oldest cities, Stillwater is a quaint town with a lot of history and charm. It's a great place to spend a morning or afternoon and has plenty of fun shops, restaurants and bars. It's located on the St. Croix River and has a walking trail and drawbridge. It's about a 15 minute drive from Hudson and 25 minute drive from River Falls.
Plenty to do in either city - downtowns, restaurants, bars, shops, parks, chain of lakes, Mall of America, etc.
Check out the restaurants and bars along 2nd Street in downtown, stroll along the river path, or walk out to the Hudson Pier Beach. There is also a retail node in Hudson at I-94 & Carmichael Road in case you need access to a Target, Walmart, Culver's, etc.
Downtown RF, along Main Street, has a variety of restaurants and bars, shops, and stores.
Glen Park is a 41-acre park just southwest of downtown River Falls. It features hiking trails, pickleball courts, picnic areas, a playground, and a public pool. Hiking trails take you along the Kinnickinnic River. Pickleball Courts are open to the public.
Willow River State Park is a 3,000-acre riverside park encompassing Little Falls Lake with hiking trails, a waterfall, swimming & canoeing. It is about 15-20 minutes from Hudson and 25 minutes from River Falls.
