How do I get there?

Simón Bolívar International Airport (SMR) is the closest airport about a 20–30 minute drive to most Santa Marta hotels. You’ll also find frequent domestic connections via El Dorado International Airport (BOG) in Bogotá; many international flights arrive into Bogotá with convenient onward connections to SMR. If you’re traveling from abroad, check flight options to both Bogotá and SMR to compare schedules and prices.

Where should we stay in Santa Marta?

Answer

Santa Marta has options for every preference and budget. For a beachfront stay, consider hotels along El Rodadero and Bello Horizonte for easy access to the sand and short drives to the ceremony. If you prefer historic charm, look for restored Colonial houses and boutique hotels in the City Centre (La Quinta, Parque de los Novios area) — great for walking to restaurants and nightlife. For a quieter, nature-forward experience, explore eco-lodges or small inns near Tayrona National Park and the foothills.

Will Transport be provided ?

Answer

We’re unfortunately unable to provide transport for all guests. Taxis, Uber, and Didi are readily available in Santa Marta; a typical ride from hotels in El Rodadero or the City Centre to the venue is about 20–30 minutes. We’ll share recommended pickup points, estimated shuttle times (if any), and directions on the Travel page as the day approaches.

Santa Marta in December is warm and tropical. Expect temperatures between 25–32°C. Stay hydrated and bring sunscreen!

Answer

The local currency is the Colombian Peso (COP). Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels and restaurants, but we recommend carrying some cash for small purchases, taxis, tips, and market stalls, cash is commonly preferred in Colombia.
