Malibu
If you have time, take a drive up to Malibu and enjoy some beautiful cliff-side beaches and fresh seafood. We recommend visiting El Matador State Beach and eating at the Reel Inn or Neptune's Net.
Abbot Kinney
This is the place to go to get the full LA vibe. Lots of shopping, restaurants, and beautiful people. We suggest a stop at Salt & Straw if you don't have one in your home city (or even if you do). Then, walk over to the Venice canals to see Abbot Kinney's vision.
Breakfast by Salt's Cure
Their oatmeal griddle cakes will blow your mind. This low-key spot is one of our all-time faves for breakfast.
Sqirl
The ricotta toast at Sqirl is to die for, but everything on the menu is amazing. We promise you won't be disappointed by this Silver Lake staple, if you're willing to wait in line with a bunch of hipsters. Really, there's always a line - it's the hippest brunch spot in L.A.
The Apple Pan
Classic burgers at a counter spot straight out of the '40s. If you've already tried In-N-Out, this is another great choice. Save room for the homemade pie. Cash only.
Leo's Tacos Truck
Street tacos are a must when visiting LA. Leo's is a very tasty spot specializing in Tacos al Pastor (pork and grilled pineapple).
Poke-Poke
Ultra fresh poke by the beach, right on the Venice boardwalk. It can't get much better. If you're not into raw fish, you're wrong. They might have tofu or something though.
Father's Office
Our go-to beer bar with a consistently good tap list. They're also famous for their Office Burger, with caramelized onion, bacon, gruyére, blue cheese, and arugula. Many argue it's the best burger in the city, but we are strong believers in In-N-Out and The Apple Pan.
Hayden
Hayden is our restaurant recommendation if you're into wine. They've got a very well-curated program, with a focus on natural wines.
The Getty Villa
Check out the Getty Villa if you like art and architecture. You'll also get some incredible views of the ocean from the hills of the Pacific Palisades.
