she said yes!

Roger and I first met playing soccer for our college teams at Oxford College back in 2012. The funny thing about it is I don't remember our first encounter on the field! Roger recalls that I "schooled him" and beat him several times with my fancy footwork. I suppose you could call that love at first sight ;) Our paths didn't cross again until we went to Emory University 2 years later. Roger must have not forgotten my skills because he invited me to play in a World Cup tournament on his team. He asked me to play after he saw me working at the gym doing my never-ending nursing school work. After the game, Roger offered to walk me back to my place and he kindly held the umbrella for me as we walked in the rain. As we got closer to the gate he asked me to dinner, and I happily and calmly said yes I would love to. Little did he know once he left and turned the corner, I sprinted back to my apartment jumping up and down from excitement to tell my roommate what happened. I just couldn't believe that a guy like him could like a girl like me! After college graduation we had to face a challenge.. Roger wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a Podiatrist and got accepted to Temple University in Philadelphia to start medical school. Luckily I was able to fly to Philadelphia to see him as often as I could for the next 3+ years while I worked as a nurse in Atlanta. Our love for each other continued to grow through the years. Any small patch of grass we found in the bustling city of Philly you would find us there playing soccer together. After 4 years together Roger proposed on the beach- my favorite place! Next May we will not only be celebrating 5 years together, but the beginning of a beautiful lifetime as we say "I do" on 5/19/2019 with you all, our most dear family and friends! We are so grateful for what God has done in our lives and will continue to do as we serve Him through His beautiful design and gift- marriage.
