While the matter of who asked who out is still up for debate, it is safe to say that the union of this couple began with a little blonde haired boy we all know and love. Carlie and Johann met in college while training horses. They didn’t have class together, but often rode together during the evenings. Killian joined Johann most nights. Johann would ride his filly while his little boy would terrorize one of the other students by running around the barn, or playing in the sand of the arena. Well one of those nights, the task of keeping Killian occupied fell onto Carlie. Johann remembers this as being the start of everything. “She came around the corner with him in her arms and something felt right.” Jump forward to Thanksgiving of 2025 when Johann put Killian on the back of the beloved horse Maggie, gave him a sign that read “will you marry my dad?” and surprised Carlie with a ring. Turns out Carlie had a surprise of her own, and in July of 2025 the couple welcomed their little girl Leona into the world! It seems like a lifetime has passed since those beginning moments, when the truth is they have a lifetime yet to live together. Here’s to the little family, and their last names finally all being the same!
