Matron of Honor
Kelsey is Carley’s older sister, her go-to person for an honest opinion, fantasy book recommendation, or for sharing a good workout. From being forced to dress-alike as kids to now buying identical clothes, Kelsey has always been a part of Carley’s happiest memories. Having her by her side isn’t just tradition—it’s essential.
Best Man
When Patrick met Gabe, he was just a little freshman fish in the vast pond known as the WVU Swim Club, where Gabe was one of the top sharks. The two couldn’t have been more different when it came to swimming: one was simply trying to have a good time and swim as little as possible during practice, while the other was an ex-D1 swimmer who sometimes practiced twice a day... But swimming was the only thing that differed between them. After they met, Gabe quickly took Patrick under his wing, becoming a metaphorical Father/Uncle to him on the swim club. He guided Patrick in the ways of beer pong, Rock Band, and introduced him to the finest of beverages (Fruit Punch Burnett’s). It wasn't long before they began to find common interests like a love for craft beer, traveling, games, Jake Gyllenhaal, and ladies with the last name Shingleton. As fate (or perhaps Gabe) would have it, the good times between the two were far from over. Patrick eventually fell for Gabe’s sister-in-law, ensuring a lifetime of late-night reveling until 4:08 a.m., listening to Marvin Gaye, and playing shuffleboard. There’s no one Patrick would rather have by his side on this big day—because Gabe will undoubtedly bring his trademark twerking skills, humor, and loyalty to make this big day unforgettable.
Maid of Honor
In true younger sister fashion, Camryn always knew how to push Carley’s buttons. These days, though, their only arguments are if Camryn returned a borrowed shirt or not. They spent countless years swimming and dancing side by side, and Carley’s wedding day will be no different. Keep an eye on the dance floor—they’re sure to share the spotlight once again!
Groomsman
Patrick has always been bursting with energy. As a kid, he would roam the neighborhood, recruiting others to come play outside. He took a particular liking to Aaditya and his family, enjoying Aaditya's mother's homemade bread and pesto and celebrating Diwali with them every year. However, Aaditya wasn’t always thrilled with Patrick’s persistence and energy—he would even pretend he wasn’t home when Patrick came knocking. It wasn’t until the end of their first year at WVU that things between them changed. One random spring afternoon, Aaditya—completely out of character—asked Patrick to be his roommate. Over the next three years, they lived in the infamous Bounce House alongside their roommates, Eric and Alex, becoming best friends. They celebrated countless holidays, braved WVU’s notoriously grueling wine-tasting class, spent summer days at Cheat Lake, got rowdy at WVU basketball games, brainstormed workouts and meal-prepping ideas, and attended endless happy hours at Kegler’s. What began as a slightly one-sided friendship blossomed into a lifelong bond, full of unforgettable memories and plenty more to come.
Bridesmaid
Maddie and Carley first bonded over late nights studying in the library and ranting about engineering professors. Their friendship evolved outside the classroom, and they’d spend hours talking and sorting out life. Carley couldn’t have survived WVU without Maddie, and she’s happy to have gained a lifelong friend.
Groomsman
Bailey is the quiet, go-with-the-flow older of Patrick’s two brothers, who’s always up for a good time. Whether it's tailgating at every WVU football game or jumping into any adventure that comes his way, he’s usually the first one out there. Growing up, we didn’t always get along, but we definitely spent a lot of time picking on each other and exploring the neighborhood and woods together, and even creating games together like the infamous “rock war” where garden rocks would be launched at each other… As you can imagine, that war was a one time event after one of us ended up going to the hospital and getting stitches... Those daily adventures were a huge part of our childhood. And despite our differences, people always say we look and sound alike, which has led to a fair share of “are you guys twins?” moments. Bailey’s laid-back nature and sense of humor make him an awesome groomsman, and I’m proud to have him by my side.
Bridesmaid
Chloe, girlfriend to Patrick’s younger brother Riley, is as much fun as she is caring. She has a way of instantly feeling like family. Thanks to her astrology knowledge, Chloe can tell you if two signs are compatible—luckily, she gave Carley and Patrick the thumbs up!
Groomsman
Riley is the youngest of the crew, which means he’s spent his entire life borrowing (see: stealing) my clothes and somehow making them look like they were his all along. If you see us at the wedding and think, “Wait, did I just see that guy somewhere else?”—don’t worry, you’re not seeing double. People say we look alike, sound alike, and, let’s be honest, probably act alike after a few drinks. Whether it’s hitting the bars, dominating a board game night, or battling it out in Dota 2 (where he definitely doesn’t carry me), Riley is always down for a good time. Just keep an eye on your wardrobe—he’s got a history.
Bridesmaid
Kara and Carley first crossed paths through a student organization focused on water and engineering—thank you, AWWA! They quickly became besties, and now you’ll often find them tailgating together in the Blue Lot or fangirling over their favorite fictional book characters. Need a solid makeup recommendation? Kara is your girl!
Groomsman
Kyle and Patrick's origin story began their sophomore year of college, meeting under the bright lights of the aquatic center at the WVU Rec Center while lifeguarding. Over the next several years, they spent their days lifeguarding together and their nights conquering downtown Morgantown—singing Tears for Fears on karaoke nights and playing Heads Up with 25 strangers on the 2 a.m. bus ride home. It was an easy decision to have Kyle stand by Patrick’s side on his wedding day, as he has been there through it all. **We apologize in advance if halfway through the reception, Kyle has hijacked the music and begins to play Toto or Third Eye Blind!**
Groomsman/Officiant
Andrew “Drew” “Scotty” Green entered Patrick’s life at the beginning of his Med School Era. The two were paired together as group partners for nearly every assignment throughout their first two years, and it didn’t take long for Drew and Patrick to become close. What exactly brought them together? Maybe it was the challenging 4 hour long board game sessions, bonding over workouts, the similar energy they bring to everyday life, or accidentally killing their virtual reality patients dozens of times when representing their med school at conferences (don’t worry that was several years ago). Or maybe it was all of the above. Through every challenge, success, and all the laughs in between, Drew became more than just a partner in med school—he became a lifelong friend. There’s not many that can fully relate to that experience quite like Drew. Patrick is honored to have him by his side on his wedding day. Let’s just hope Drew doesn’t break out his classic bunch of grapes Halloween costume for the special occasion.
Flower Girl
Carley and Patrick, or better known to Emerson as “CarCar and Funcle”, have loved every moment watching her grow. She is CarCar’s mini-me and Funcle’s favorite person to tease. The three of them share a special bond. In fact, sometimes they are even mistaken as her parents!
Flower Girl
Having Quinn, Carley’s cousin, in the wedding is a beautiful reminder of the love and connection that family brings to this special occasion. With her love of all things girly—twirly dresses, sparkly accessories, and a touch of pink—she’ll make a perfect flower girl!
Ring Bearer
With his cheeky grins and jokester spirit, Knox is ready to steal the show as ring bearer. Carley and Patrick adore playing with Knox and enjoy watching him grow into his own little person. His role in their wedding reflects the joy he brings to their lives.
