Zach and Carley met Carley's freshman year of college at Marquette University. He was her TA in her freshman engineering class and while she might have had a slight crush, she didn't think anything else would come of it. Her junior year and his senior year, Carley joined Baja SAE - the offroad racing team Zach was president of. Carley joined strictly for the experience Baja would give her (read that in a sarcastic tone) and after a year of working in the shop and being friends, there started being something there. After Zach buying Carley her first legal beer on her 21st birthday (which is something he still brags about), to taking a trip cross-country with the Baja club to California, they started dating the summer of 2019. 5 years later, living in Wauwatosa, WI with their dog Peyton, they took a trip to to Lannon Sunflower Farm and he proposed in a field of sunshine!
