Tommy and Carley met as freshmen at Texas A&M University in 2020. They happened to join the same freshman leadership organization (FORME)—but at first, they couldn’t even keep each other straight. Carley kept mistaking Tommy for another guy in the organization, partly because Tommy was sporting a beard at the time, and Tommy would mix Carley up with the only other curly-haired blonde there. It wasn’t until right before Christmas break, in Sbisa dining hall, that Tommy and Carley had their first real conversation. After returning from break, they began studying with the same group and slowly started getting to know each other. By sophomore year, their friendship had turned into something more, and they began dating. Since then, they’ve experienced so many milestones together—traveling to new places, graduating college, starting their first jobs, and now even buying their first home. On July 21, 2026, Tommy completely surprised Carley by proposing on a cruise to Mexico. What started as a vacation quickly turned into a celebration they’ll never forget, as they spent the rest of the trip soaking in their new engagement. From mistaken identities, to becoming friends, to building a life together, they are so grateful for every step of their journey—and can’t wait for the next chapter.
