Payton and I met on a dating app March 2022. We talked for a few days and decided we wanted to meet. Well he didn’t reply as quickly since he was hanging out with his dad, so I naturally got sad and took a nap to avoid my feelings. Well during that 2 hour nap I got a text asking me on a date. Since I took forever to reply he made secondary plans with his friend, Connor Yi to go to KBBQ. He wasn’t expecting me to reply but said I could still come so I did and we hit it off! We both grew up in a Christian home with very loving families and had many similar interests, values, and goals. We went on a few more dates with 3rd wheels. Thanks Tom! After the 3rd date we became inseparable and made our relationship official April 10th. Just shy of a month of knowing each other. One reason we knew it was meant to be was that our pets got along. For those that don’t know, Payton already came with 2 dogs and a cat. And those dogs are not small like my dog, Butter. Butter was an only dog child and gets scared and barks at all dogs and cats when on a leash so we were both very surprised when they all became the best of friends. It was such a blessing and solidified our relationship even more. Flash forward 1 year and 4 months on August 5, 2023 Payton proposed! I had a very strong feeling the day of because he said, “I’m dressing cute today” when he usually wears sweatpants and T-shirts. The biggest and best surprise was when my parents, his parents, siblings, and his cousin (our photographer) all came out of hiding after he got down on one knee. I cried like a baby out of pure happiness. Just like Payton said when we first started dating, “We got a good thing going” and it’s so true! We are so excited to begin this new phase of life and to officially celebrate our love with our family and friends this June!
