Once upon a time.. a plump little prince by the name of Ali Baba met a beautiful red genie, the Genie of the Ring to be exact, and fell madly in love with her.... but no, seriously. We met many years ago at the Dixie theater when we were in the 4th and 5th grade. It wasn't until later into high school that we really became friends, but that is the technical answer. I can't remember much about the play and our friendship besides how bad he could be, how much of an angel Ms. Bonnie was, and that huge awful hat he wore on top of his big buzzed head.. either way, I had a crush on him. Didn't all the girls? Now, we both went our separate ways in life but managed to land back in Marshall County. So, In April of 2020 JB reached out for the first time in a long time to hang out just as friends.. we haven't left each other's sides since. Fun Fact: the first time JB met Anyston, he busted her lip with a football.

JB and I went on our first "official" date to Fall Creek Falls for some hiking on 05/02/20. On the way home we stopped by the farm he hunts to check trail cameras and roost turkeys. (This was May, if it didn't involve turkeys, then it didn't involve JB as we all know.) He refused to make this official until 05/16/2021 when we went to Sperry's, the first day we were able to go on a real date after the Shut Down was lifted. We were coming up on one year together and I was a little suspicious. Only because a few months into our relationship he told me he was going to propose to me in a year, but I wasn't sure how serious he was. We stopped by to see Fisher at his Kindergarten graduation party on May 14th. Afterwards, JB asked if I would like to ride to the farm with him to roost turkeys.. (this is where I should have caught him, turkey season was over and he was tagged out. anyways..) we rode down to the farm and like always I sat at the end of the driveway in the truck. He walked down to the farmhouse and not long after called me and asked me to drive down so he could show me something. I drove down and hopped out at the fence line where I see JB waiting in the driveway. As I walk closer he asks if I'm ready.. then he drops to one knee and asks me. My heart exploded and honestly I'm not sure I ever officially said yes, I just fell to the ground with him and cried.. I was so happy to know I have my best friend forever and always. He managed to hide his camera on a tripod and record the entire proposal, one day I plan to watch it.. but as for now, I don't want to hear my voice on camera and ruin it.
