Carletta and I connected instantly! We were at a cookout with mutual friends when we overheard someone discussing something so shocking that we declared aloud in unison, "drink your water and mind your business!" LOL. We became really close during the pandemic, so much so she is like my "daughter" (inside joke). Fast forward to 2023, when Bryan and Carletta met! I encouraged my girl to go on a date with Bryan, shoot it wasn't like they were getting married. Look how wrong I was. I am so happy to witness their love grow and I pray that they share many prosperous years of love, growth, and happiness.

Seems like just yesterday Bryan and I were roaming the campus of NCCU. Wet behind the ears, no money, but we were always on the go. But perhaps the place best known to us was on the 50 yard line practice field as we both played trumpet in The NCCU Sound Machine Marching Band. Bryan, a class younger, actually introduced me to our other brothers. The bond we have is inseparable, and I’m thankful to this day to know each of us has Bryan’s back. I remember sharing one of the most pivotal moments with Bryan. He thought he didn’t have what it took to be a part of the band. He wanted to quit and I had to remind him of his greatness. Let him tell it, “He wasn’t crying like that”. There’s an old saying, I am my brother's keeper. Who would have thought those small words of inspiration would have pushed a long lasting friendship. To this day Bryan still plays the trumpet, along with many other additional talents. I coined Bryan the nickname “The Renaissance Man”. There’s probably nothing he couldn’t do with his hands once he puts his mind to it. Over 16 years of friendship and creating dope memories, Bryan has been there for the pivotal moments in my life. Bryan is an amazing God-father to my daughter. I’m thankful that we both got to see each other mature. Most importantly, I’m thankful that Bryan has found an amazing partner Carletta. She is the ying to Bryan’s yang. A God fearing Queen. A fearless Zu-Ranger. And I can’t wait to create new memories with my new found sister.
