We just want to say thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate our special day. We felt the love from those near and far and we feel so lucky to have such incredible friends and family. We love you all! More pictures to come!
Will and Carlee will be eloping along the Poudre River in Fort Collins, CO at sunrise on June 27th. This will be a private elopement between just them two and their photographer. After the ceremony, they will be having a celebration in their backyard with any friends and family that can attend. If you are interested in attending and have not done so already, please reach out to the bride or groom for further details such as the time and location. The reception will be potluck style, so we ask you bring a dish to share. Some alcohol will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own as well. Please dress as you would if you were still attending the original wedding in Alaska. We can't wait to celebrate with everyone who can make it! For those who can't be with us on our special day, we plan to have smaller, more casual celebrations with our families at a later date when we can all be together again. Thanks so much!
It is with a heavy heart to announce our Alaska wedding as been officially cancelled. We so desperately wish we could have celebrated with all of you in such a magical place. Due to COVID and the nature of the small community of Haines, our vendors have made the decision it’s in the best interest to shut down for the 2020 season, which I understand and respect. Will and I wanted to hold out as long as possible before making a decision, but this news resulted in the decision being made for us, which I will admit, feels like a weight lifted off my shoulders. What matters right now is everyone’s health and safety and if that means the wedding we’ve been planning for a year and a half doesn’t happen, so be it. With that said, we will still be getting married on June 27th in Colorado, it’ll just look a lot different than originally planned. It will be an intimate elopement between just us two, and possibly a small gathering after with those who are local. Additional details and information to come for those who were planning to attend in Alaska. We love you all, we are so sorry to those wanting to celebrate our special day with us, and we look forward to being able to celebrate with you all in the future when it’s safe to do so.
Will and Carlee met back in the summer of 2015. You can call it luck, you can call it fate, but their two worlds collided during a sunny day at an apartment complex pool. If it weren’t for the soggy cardboard case of Busch Light that broke all over the pool deck, Will would have never offered Carlee the beer that rolled under her chair. After realizing they saw each other from a distance at a local bar the night before, they exchanged numbers and grabbed dinner that night. They’ve been stuck with each other ever since!
Will popped the question at Grove Park in Asheville, NC when the two were there visiting family for Labor Day weekend. They were standing in front of a water fall fountain when Will handed Carlee his phone to show her a text our friend just sent. Carlee took the phone and after a few confused seconds, realized what was happening. It was a photo of their dog, Buckley, with a sign that said “Will you marry my dad?” Carlee looked up to find Will on one knee with a ring. He asked her to marry him and of course, she said yes!
