Our Story

While exchanging only a few messages on a dating app, Carlee tried to play it cool — she knew Nick was a busy surgery intern. Meanwhile, Nick was being told by his friends to “double text” and not lose hope. Thankfully, fate (and a few meddling coresidents who took over his phone) made sure a first date actually happened. From the first date, Nick was sure — he insists it was love at first sight. Carlee, ever the thoughtful overthinker, was cautiously optimistic. But we both agree something special happened the day we met. Hours passed before we even looked at the menu; we were too wrapped up in conversation to worry about food. After leaving the restaurant close to midnight, Nick learned that Carlee’s sense of direction is… questionable at best — and gallantly helped her find the parking garage. The months that followed made it clear how compatible we were. Our shared love for family, friends, and making the most of every moment brought us even closer. We met each other’s families early on, knowing that would be the true test — and we fit right in. Both sides are loud, loving, and full of laughter, and it instantly felt like home. Nick proposed on a rainy day at Long Beach in Plymouth — the same spot where we had one of our first walks together. In true “us” fashion, a flat tire followed minutes later. So there we were: Carlee blissfully hyperventilating while holding an umbrella, and Nick changing a tire in the pouring rain. We arrived to a surprise engagement party soaked but absolutely over the moon. We live by a “yolo” or “sleep when you’re dead mentality” allowing so many memories to be made and experiences shared- and this is just the beginning. We’re so grateful for our village and cannot wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you at the beach!
