We first met when we lived across the hall from each other during our freshman year of college at Salisbury University, and the rest is history! Mostly everyone on that floor was part of the Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community, which meant everyone had a couple of the same classes and did similar activities together. This resulted in us spening a lot of time together! One of George's first memories of Carlee is when he was hanging out with others in Carlee's room, and they just kept looking at each other and smiling as the night went on.
Carlee and George continued to grow closer and fall in love following the beginning of their relationship. As luck would have it, no matter what complex they lived in during their college years, they ended up always living in the same building as each other! Sharing many of the same interests, they typically found themselves wanting to do the same things as each other, such as being tour guides at the University, being involved in the University's entrepreneurship program, going to the beach in Ocean City, Maryland, or exploring the beauty of Maryland's Eastern Shore. It just so happened that Carlee and George were both from New Jersey, living about an hour and a half from each other, which allowed them to not really be apart during summers either. Carlee had also grown up vacationing in George's hometown of Cape May and her family and friends still spent time there. Carlee became an honorary Cape May "local" spending countless summer days with George at his job at Steger Beach Service on the beaches of Cape May. After graduating college, they would visit each other pretty much every weekend, with George spending a lot of time in Carlee's hometown of Southampton. They went on a variety of trips, including a road trip through Virginia to the Outer Banks and many, many trips to Florida. In the fall of 2021, Carlee and George were able to move in together to a winter rental one block from the beach in Cape May, and enjoyed being able to see the ocean from their bedroom all winter long! This allowed Cape May to not just become George's home, but "their" home! Once the next summer approached, they moved over to North Cape May, and continued to grow their love!
On the first night of one of Carlee and George's trips to the Opal Sands in Clearwater, Florida, George got down on one knee on their balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico right after the sun went down and asked Carlee to marry him! Carlee of course said yes! They FaceTimed their parents to spread the news and then spent the rest of the trip celebrating their love and the excitement to come, before coming home to celebrate even more with family!
Carlee did not just fall in love with George, she also fell in love with George's hometown of Cape May, allowing it to become "their" home! We are so excited to get married in America's original seaside resort, and we cannot wait to celebrate with our guests! Keep checking this website as we continue to add more details and information on the big day and other celebrations!
