In January 2023, we met on an online dating site called Hinge, and from that moment, it was clear we were meant to be. Carl asked me to be his girlfriend on February 2, 2023—making that date forever special to us. It’s why we chose February 2, 2025, as our wedding day, a full-circle moment in our love story. Our first date was at Sedona Taphouse in Troy, Michigan, and from that night on, we knew we were destined for forever. Some may have said we were moving quickly, but we both knew that what we shared was something rare and precious. After falling more in love with each passing day, we moved in together and built a strong, beautiful relationship. Then, in June 2024, Carl made our dreams come true when he proposed in Orlando, Florida. As Cinderella once said, “So this is love. So this is what makes life divine.” Our story feels like a Disney fairytale—full of love, divine timing, and the undeniable blessing of God. Black love is such a beautiful, powerful thing, and we feel honored to carry that legacy forward. First came love, now comes marriage, and we are excited to build our forever together, keeping our love strong every step of the way.

Our Proposal Story On June 13, 2024, Carl proposed in the most magical way in Orlando, Florida. Right in front of the iconic Orlando Eye Ferris wheel! It was such a sweet and unforgettable moment that I will cherish forever. Carl had been nervous all day, and little did I know, he had been carrying the ring with him throughout our travels. He later told me that while the ring was tucked safely in his carry-on suitcase during our flight, once we landed in Florida, he kept it in his pocket. Apparently, I kept bumping into that pocket all day without realizing what he had planned! When the time finally came, Carl got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him…. and I said YES! The best part? Two of our closest friends, who were on this couples’ trip with us, caught the whole proposal on video. It was truly a moment that felt like a dream come true.
