We're getting married!!

It all began January, 2019. I was out with a group of friends and family, celebrating my cousins birthday. At one point during the night a stranger across the room drew my immediate attention. After I introduced myself, we hit it off instantly and could not stop talking. I soon figured out he just arrived to join the same group I was with. Apparently Sam and I have been to several of the same events over the years and we never crossed paths. We have been together since the moment we met. I guess God had a plan for us and was waiting for the right time in our lives to begin our journey together.

I knew Carla was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with shortly after we starting dating. After getting the blessing from Carla's parents, I began to think about how I was going to propose. We decided to go on a last minute vacation to Isla Muejeres, Mexico in August of 2021. I had the ring with me the entire trip, waiting for the right moment to pop the question. One night, we decided to go to the city center for dinner and I knew this was the best opportunity. Before leaving for the restaurant, I persuaded her to follow me to a small private beach where a few nights prior we witnessed sea turtles laying eggs in the sand. As we were walking along the rocky shoreline, I stopped her and expressed my love for her. Next thing I knew, I was on one knee asking the person I loved the most to spend the rest of her life with me. We got engaged on Monday, August 23rd, 2021 and are excited for the day we become husband and wife!
