Our story technically goes all the way back to 5th grade, when we were paired together for a class video project (Carla accidentally read Ben’s lines on camera… a strong start!) We quickly became best friends (still are!) and in our freshman year of high school, on a hike to the Summit House, Ben asked Carla to be his girlfriend. High school was full of shared memories: sports games, proms, and finishing next to each other in class rank (a friendly rivalry that’s still occasionally brought up). College brought a few years of “medium-distance,” with Ben at WPI and Carla at BC. We loved our schools, our friends, and especially getting to share those worlds with each other. When Ben studied abroad in Australia and Carla in Italy, we learned that distance really can make the heart grow fonder… and that time zones are no match for determination and decent Wi-Fi! After graduation, Carla convinced Ben to join her in her favorite city (which quickly became his too) and we’ve loved building a life together ever since. From middle school classmates to working professionals, we’ve kept growing together through every new phase of life. And now, we can’t wait to celebrate this next one with all of you!
