Porque Boda en Jueves? Why a Thursday Wedding?
El Sábado es "Shabbat" en el Judaísmo. Empieza del atardecer de Viernes al atardecer de Sábado. Este día es sagrado y se honra en no trabajar o hacer negocios, incluyendo transacciones monetarias. Por esa razon la ceremonia sera en Jueves. In Judaism, Saturday is called "Shabbat", which starts from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. This day is considered sacred and we honor it by not working or doing any business, including monetary transactions. For this reason, our celebration will be on a Thursday.
Que es una Jupá? What is a Chuppah?
La boda tiene lugar debajo de la jupá (palio nupcial), que es construida por cuatro palos y telas. Es un símbolo de la casa que será construida y compartida por la pareja. Está abierta por todos los lados, como en antaño la tienda de Abraham y Sara que estaba abierta para dar la bienvenida a amigos y familiares. The chuppah is a tent where the couple stands during their wedding ceremony. A chuppah symbolizes God's protective blanket. It also represents the home that the couple will build together and the hospitality towards the guests.

Es costumbre que los novios se rodeen 7 veces. Esto se llama "Hakafot". 7 es el número de días de la creación y representa el empiezo de nuestro matrimonio. It is customary for the bride and groom to surround each other 7 times. This is called "Hakafot". 7 is the number of days of creation and represents the beginning of our marriage.
Mazapan? No! "Mazel Tov!"
Al final romperemos un vidrio y ustedes dicen Mazel Tov! Esta tradición representa que el matrimonio encierra tanto dolor como alegría y también simboliza el compromiso de estar juntos incluso en los tiempos difíciles! Aunque "Mazel Tov" se puede traducir literalmente como "buena fortuna" o "buena suerte", la frase no representa lo mismo que "buena suerte". Mientras que "buena suerte" expresa el deseo de que algo salga bien, Mazel Tov es un reconocimiento de que algo bueno ya ha ocurrido! In the end we will break a glass and you will say Mazel Tov! This tradition represents that marriage contains both pain and joy and also symbolizes the commitment to be together even in difficult times! Although "Mazel Tov" can be literally translated as "good fortune" or "good luck", the phrase does not represent the same as "good luck". While "good luck" expresses the wish that something turns out well, Mazel Tov is an acknowledgment that something good has already happened!
