We’re so excited to share that we got engaged on August 21st at Castle De Haar in Amsterdam — it was truly a magical day we’ll never forget. We’ve finally received our engagement photos and couldn’t wait to share them with our family and friends here! We’re still working out the details for our wedding, but we’re leaning toward a small, intimate backyard ceremony and reception surrounded by our immediate families. Our journey to forever began with a very exciting first-class flight to Amsterdam (Chrissy's first time in First Class Internationally!). The city was buzzing with excitement for the SAIL 2025 festival, which happens once every 5 years. Carissa was thrilled, believing our trip was purely for the tall ships, fireworks, and the Heineken Experience. The first-class journey set the tone, but the destination was entirely unexpected: the enchanting Castle de Haar. Her surprise turned to pure joy as we arrived at the stunning, fairy-tale castle, a vision of medieval grandeur and beautiful gardens. We wandered the magical grounds until I found the perfect quiet spot. With the castle’s timeless elegance as our backdrop, I asked her to be my forever. Her tears of happiness and priceless "Yes" made the historic setting instantly ours. After the proposal, we returned to the heart of Amsterdam to celebrate our new beginning amidst the vibrant SAIL festivities—a day that perfectly blended our secret fairytale with the city’s electric excitement.
