Caleb and Carissa met just two days after Caleb had moved to Boise following his time in the Navy. Their first date was at Edge Brewing, where they put their knowledge to the test with a game of trivia.

Carissa initially told Caleb she was not interested after their first date. Caleb told her he was a very persistent man and he did not know what it was about her, but something was there. After spending more time together, the two went on their first day trip to McCall exploring the mountain air and enjoying drinks at Shore Lodge Resort. On the drive back, Caleb pulled into his driveway, turned to Carissa and asked her to be his girlfriend on January 23, 2021.

To celebrate their first dating anniversay, Caleb and Carissa went to where it all began, McCall! The Scandia Inn was newly renovated, so the two booked a night at the hotel. They spent their day eating around town and walking around Payette Lake. Later that day, they went to a local shop, bought each other matching Brumate mugs and a bottle of whiskey with some diet coke, and binged watched the latest season of Yellowstone watching the snow fall. From that moment on, they vowed to spend their anniversaries in McCall, ID.

Caleb and Carissa decided that after three years, they were ready to take a step further in their relationship. They adopted their cat Bellatrix (Bella) and brought her home to Carissa's apartment. Caleb locked eyes with the little gray fluff at the Idaho Humane Society and knew she would make a great addition to the family! In March 2024, the three of them officially moved in to their house in Southeast Boise. Carissa successfully owns a well-known photography business, "Focus: A Lasting Impression" and works for the Talent Team at the J.R. Simplot Company. Caleb is happy to announce he has recently graduated with honors from Boise State University with a Bachelors Degree in Construction Management and is a Project Engineer at ESI.

Before leaving for California to spend Christmas with Carissa's family, Caleb wanted to spend another one of their anniversaries in McCall for a quick day trip to keep true to tradition. They had breakfast at their favorite spot and took a walk on Payette Lake as they have many times before. While adjusting Caleb's camera to take some scenic photos of the view, Caleb got down on one knee. They celebrated the day by going to Shore Lodge for a drink, excited to have another anniversary date to cherish in McCall, ID.

Caleb and Carissa are happy to announce that they will be tying the knot.....yep you guessed it....in McCall, ID on September 19th, 2026. Their small, intimate wedding will take place none other than the Scandia Inn hotel where their story began years ago.
