Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Carissa Fincher and Bryan Schwartz
Welcome to Colorado Springs, CO! Below is a list of recommended restaurants and attractions that you can fill your time with while visiting. Some of these locations are places that we visited before our engagement and highly recommend.

Cave of the Winds Mountain Park

100 Cave of the Winds Road, Manitou Springs, CO 80829
, (719) 685-5444

This is where we went spelunking the first night of our vacation. They have regular cave tours, an adventure park, and spelunking packages available.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

4250 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80906
, (719) 633-9925

Great for kids of all ages (0-99). Carissa is an avid animal lover and loves coming to this zoo to experience the wild side. They recently finished upgrading some of the exhibits and admission gives you access to a chance to hand feed some of their giraffes.

Garden of the Gods Visitor Center

1805 North 30th Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904
, (719) 634-6666

A beautiful park for beautiful sights. Named Garden of the Gods for the way the red stone shines in the bright sunlight, it is a nice adventure away from the city if you're interested in a long walk or hike. They also have horse riding packages available for additional costs.

Pikes Peak

5089 Pikes Peak Highway, Cascade, CO 80809

Pikes Peak is a one of Colorado's most well known 14,000ft mountains. You can either drive the long twisty road up to the peak or take the Pikes Peak Cog railway. Either way, it is a breathtaking view to behold. Please be aware that this attraction is VERY weather dependent more so than any other attraction in Colorado Springs. We also recommend bringing a jacket or hoodie as the air is thin and cold at the top.

The Broadmoor Seven Falls

1045 Lower Gold Camp Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80905
, (855) 923-7272

A beautiful set of cascading waterfalls. There is a picnic area and a restaurant where guests can enjoy the views. Please be aware this does have a lot of stairs to reach the top if that's where you wish to go.

The Urban Egg

28A S Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903

We had breakfast here during our vacation and it was probably the most delicious food we had all that weekend. Get there early as the lines get very long, this place is popular for a reason. If you have a wait, pop into the Mexican restaurant next door and grab a mimosa while you wait, the two places are connected. This eatery is only open for breakfast and closes in the early afternoons.

The Melting Pot

30 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903
, (719) 385-0300

Delicious fondue, entrees, and desserts. This place is meant to be slow paced so allow for up to two hours to share the experience and be ready to pay for it. Not the most budget friendly, but definitely a must for cheese and chocolate lovers.

Colorado Jeep Tours

2320 East Main Street, Cañon City, CO 81212
, (719) 275-6339

THIS IS IN CANON CITY, about an hour south of Colorado Springs. This is the jeep tour that Bryan booked for his proposal. This company went above and beyond to make the trip special and memorable for us. They faked a malfunction with one of their vehicles to get us into a jeep all by ourselves, our driver knew when Bryan wanted to pop the question and excused himself to go hide at the top of the arch to take pictures of our moment. The entire company and the guests visiting that day knew what was happening and made sure to congratulate us. I highly highly highly recommend this company for a unique experience out doors. If you have the time to head south, this is worth the drive!

The Winery At Holy Cross Abbey

3011 U.S. 50, Cañon City, CO 81212
, (719) 276-5191

After the proposal and jeep tour, we spent an afternoon here doing a VIP tasting of their wines accompanied with a Charcuterie board. They knew what was going on as someone at the tour company called and told them what had happened. They went beyond customer service expectations and made sure our experience was one to remember. They have a wide selection of wines, all are delicious. We highly recommend them if you have the time to come down and visit. We will be sharing the bottle we bought on the day of our engagement at our reception.
