While on vacation in South Carolina, Eric walked 3 miles to pick up a rental car because there were no Ubers or Lyfts in the area, and Hertz refused to pick up customers due to COVID. The next day, after his legs recovered, Eric drove us to a tree tunnel in Georgia, known as the Wormsloe Historic Site. There was less traffic than expected, so we arrived 30 minutes ahead of the surprise photographer. So Eric stalled by going for a walk for 30 minutes (it was 100 degrees that day). At 11AM, we turned around and headed back towards the main entrance. Eric asked for us to take a selfie in the middle of the tree tunnel. I saw a photographer and said we shouldn't get in his way, but we did anyway. In the middle of the tree tunnel, Eric got down on one knee and proposed. I said yes! Moments later Eric informed me that, that was in fact our photographer there to capture the moment. We spent the next hour walking around the site and taking engagement photos. After the proposal and pictures we went into downtown Savannah and enjoyed a class of champagne on a private balcony with a 5 star meal to follow.
