Alaska Airlines will start flying DIRECT to Rome in Spring 2026!! Please know the wedding destination is 5 hours south of Rome but it is easy and affordable to book quick flights on airlines such as Easy Jet and Ryan Air. Round trip (Rome to Bari) flights can be as low as 50 dollars if you book well in advance. Please note Bari is still an hour and half from Pisticci and will require that you take a bus or train if you don't rent a car. It will cost you about another 50 dollars to check a bag on these quick airline flights. Definitely add it all up and see what is more affordable/convenient for you. I have found renting a car is the best bet. Not just due to cost, but due to the freedom to stop off and explore on your way to your final destination.

If you plan to rent a car you will need an International Drivers licence. You are no longer able to get this document in person in Washington state because all physical stores here have closed. It must be ordered through Triple A online. Please do this at least 2 months in advance. This document is good for a whole year but can take some time to be processed and delivered to you via mail. Currently there is no option to get your International Drivers license digitally, it will need to be mailed to your physical address. If you reside in a state other than Washington, please look into your options on how to obtain an International Drivers license, many states still have the option to physically go in and get your documentation same day. Please do some research on the different options and routes you can go from Rome to the Pisticci area. There are lots of options and a lot of great places to visit. You can choose to head towards the coast and visit Naples, Pompei, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Salerno all on your way to our wedding destination.
