Travel Note

Things to consider:

1) Cedar City is a remote location. It will take time to get there and you will be tired when you arrive. Give yourself plenty of time for travel. When I go to NJ I literally travel ALL DAY. 2) Southern Utah is the high desert and as such, you will be in high altitude. Expect to have some bodily responses. Some get headaches, some a little nauseous and others have sinus issues as their body adjusts. It usually takes a day or two before all of the symptoms pass. Most people are fine, but it's important to be aware. Typically orange juice is a cure for symptoms. 3) The handfasting/wedding is a 2-day camp-out affair. The location is a 45-minute drive from Cedar City. Consider if you plan to camp, or drive back to a hotel room in Cedar City for the night before returning for the festivities the next day. We hope you camp. 4) Camp setup is Sunday, April 29. If you need an escort or plan to help with setup please plan to be in Cedar City and at my house no later than noon that day.

Flight

McCarran International Airport

When you are planning your trip, please keep in mind that after the flight, you will need to drive for more than two hours to get to Cedar City. Las Vegas is the best place to land as far as ticket prices and commute to Cedar City. Salt Lake City is about a 4-hour drive, but Vegas is about a 2.5-hour drive. USUALLY, you can find some kind of Vegas getaway package that will allow you to get a GREAT price on flying and a rental car all in one. It you can't afford a rental car, catch a shuttle and we will pick you up here in Cedar. There ARE direct flights into Cedar City through Delta Airlines if you route your flight through Salt Lake City, but they are UBER expensive and I would stick with Vegas and a drive.

Shuttle

St. George Shuttle

April 30, 2018 5:00 pm - 12:00 am

You can catch a shuttle to Cedar City from the airport instead of renting a car. It usually runs about $40. Find out more at this website: https://www.stgshuttle.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIku_W7aX_2AIVVLbACh2Lpgh9EAAYASAAEgLeNvD_BwE

Rental Car

Enterprise Rent-A-Car

987 North Main Street
Cedar City, UT 84721
 (435) 865-7636

I always recommend Enterprise. You can pick a car up from them at the airport OR here in town once you arrive.

Hotel

The Roadway Inn

323 South Main Street
Cedar City, UT 84720

The Roadway Inn is not the fanciest hotel in town, but it isn't a dive either. They are reasonably priced and have an indoor pool. The best part - they are LITERALLY directly behind my house. The pool windows look into my back yard. If you are planning to stay in a hotel, and want to be as close to use as possible, I would recommend the Roadway Inn.

Travel Note

Bed and Breakfasts

Cedar City has the highest concentration of Bed & Breakfasts in the entire state of Utah, because we are home to the Utah Shakespeare Festival and people come from all over the world to watch the plays put on here. With that being said, I have stayed at 10 of them, and they were ALL fabulous. If you are going to spring for a hotel, I would consider looking into the amazing hospitality offered at one of these fine locations: Big Yellow Inn, Amid Summer's Inn, The Anniversary House, The Garden Cottage, Stratford, Iron Gate Inn and Winery, Bard's Inn and/or Storybook Cottage. I have stayed at each of these wonderful establishments and I cannot say enough good things about them. Each is unique and special, offering their own special charm. You really can't go wrong!
