We first met in 2002 while in high school and remained cordial students for years. Fast forwarding to our college years, we reconnected and developed a friendship when Ashley needed assistance with her Intermediate Spanish homework. Alvan would come in and save the day, assisting Ashley in any way possible. ‘Cause, that’s what friends do right! During our latter college years, we fell out of touch, and again reconnected about a year after graduating from college. Throughout Summer 2016, we would meet up for drinks and food, and share our memories, old and new. We soon realized that we were inseparable and the rest became history. Three years later, what was once a cordial relationship, transitioned into the purest form of love that either of us has ever experienced.

We planned a trip to Arizona to celebrate Ashley’s birthday and our second-year anniversary. During the dinner celebration, after all his hard work and efforts, Alvan got down on one knee and asked, “Would you marry me?”. Of course, Ashley immediately said, “Yes!” We were engaged!
