Towards the end of the Fall 2016 semester at LSU, one our classmates invited Kayla to work on a class project for Digital Logic Lab at Middleton Library with his other friends from class. While working on the project at Middleton, Kayla was introduced to most of the people in the friend group for the first time, including Jason. By the end of the night, Kayla was added into their GroupMe. We didnt see each other again until the beginning of the 2017 spring semester. During that semester we became lab partners for Electronics lab which ultimately sparked our friendship. Throughout the following spring, summer and fall semesters, we started spending a majority of our time together doing homework and studying. After over a year of developing a strong friendship, we officially started dating on March 17, 2018.

Although it was a struggle, we help each other through classes and graduated together with Electrical Engineering degrees from LSU in May 2019. After Kayla accepted a job in the New Orleans area, we moved in together in July 2019. For almost a year, we lived in a tiny shotgun style apartment in New Orleans before we decided to start house hunting to take advantage of the historic low interest rates from COVID. In June 2020, we bought our first house together in Gretna. After living in Gretna for about a year and a half, we decided to put the house up for sale and relocate to the Baton Rouge area since Kayla got a new job in Plaquemine. We moved into our new house located in Addis in March 2022.
