Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Cara Soucie and Nick Lewis

Visit the Old Port

Portland, ME 04101

Take a walk to take in Portland's historic Old Port. There are many shops and places to eat in the Old Portland during the day and well into the night.

See some lighthouses!

Boasting the second most lighthouses in the union with 80, there are many to check out within an hour of Portland. Below are some in southern Maine that we love, but there are more up the coast. - Portland Head Light (Portland) - Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse (South Portland) - Two Lights ( Cape Elisabeth) - Nubble Lighthouse (York)

Visit Freeport

Home of L.L. Bean, take a day trip to check out the factory store and see the world famous "Bean Boot". There are also many outlet stores to check out in the area.

Catch a Seadogs game

The Seadogs are home against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. The Seadogs are the Double-A team of the Boston Red Sox. With cheap tickets and easy to walk to, there are no bad seats in the house!

Resturants

Biddeford/ Saco: Palace Diner (Biddeford: Breakfast/Lunch) Rover Bagel (Biddeford: Bagels Breakfast and Lunch) The Run of the Mill (Saco: Brew Pub, a great spot on a warm summer evening) Layalina (Biddeford: Middle Eastern) -------------------------------------------------- Portland / South Portland: Dutches (Portland: Breakfast) Marcy's Diner (Portland: Breakfast and Lunch) Miss Portland Diner (Portland: Breakfast and Lunch. Take a walk around Back Bay after) Tandem Coffee and Bakery (Portland: Bakery) Rí Rá Irish Pub & Restaurant (Old Port: Irish Brew Pub along the water) Gritty McDuff's Brew Pub (Old Port: Brew Pub in the heart of the Old Port)

See the Coast

Known for its rugged coastline, there are many locations to see the beauty of Maine's coast. Here are a just a few: East Point Audubon Sanctuary: Located at the point of Biddeford Pool, this area was a favorite of ours where we caught many sunrises/sunsets. Park along L.B. Orcutt Blvd to walk out to the sanctuary or walk along Ocean ave seeing the small tide pools in the rocks, or finding your own sea glass. Peaks Island: One of the many islands you can ferry to from Portland. Rent a bike or golf cart to take in the views around the island. Saco Bay: With 2 of the more famous beaches (Pine Point and Old Orchard), this is a great place to spend a whole afternoon or go for a walk along the whole beach. Pine Point is far quieter than Old Orchard. Protecting the bay at the north end is Prouts Neck, which is beautiful to drive out to, but also is home to Ferry Beach. Acadia National Park: If you are here a few days before or staying long, Acadia is worth the drive.

For all the days along the way
