Our story began August 20, 2023 with a simple Facebook message that boldly declared serious interest. Naturally, I did what any reasonable person would do… I panicked a little, overthought everything, and consulted my board of trusted advisors. When I finally responded, let’s just say it didn’t exactly scream “sudden connection” (I’ve since been informed it may have come off just a little rude). Time passed, and so did the moment. The conversation faded, and I was convinced I had successfully ended that chapter before it ever really began, but God had other plans. On, September 27, 2023, something told me to do some research and circle back. In a moment that felt unexpected and perfectly timed, I accidentally video called him on Messenger. I immediately panicked and hung up quickly. I followed up with a message explaining that it was completely accidental (hoping he didn’t think I had lost my mind). I also took the opportunity to ask what I had been wondering: if he was still interested after disappearing. His response was simply, “I still have my eyes on ya!” Call it curiosity, call it fate, call it me redeeming myself. This time, things were completely different. The conversation flowed, he asked to video call me, and suddenly, talking to each other felt easy… like it was always supposed to be that way. On October 6, 2023, we finally met in person—and from that moment on, everything changed. What started as a hesitant reply and an extremely embarrassing video call turned into something real, something undeniable, and a love story we never saw coming. And the rest… is history!

On January 15, 2026, one of the most unforgettable moments of our story unfolded. I knew a proposal was coming, but I had no idea when. And on that day, I truly wasn’t expecting it at all. As he later shared, after weeks of planning, going back and forth, and trying to create the “perfect” moment, he decided to stop overthinking it. That morning, he made up his mind—today was the day. He had already bought the ring weeks before and knew he didn’t want to wait any longer. With intention and love, he created something beautiful. He gathered flowers, candles, and even Kit Kats (a personal touch that made it perfectly us), and carefully lined a pathway from the doorway to the kitchen. At the end of it all, “Marry Me” was spelled out, surrounded by the glow of candles. When I walked in after practice, I noticed the setup, but I didn’t quite realize what was happening. It wasn’t until I turned the corner and saw him down on one knee that everything became real. In that moment, all the waiting, all the timing, and all the love led to one question… and, of course, one answer. I said yes to forever!
