It all began over ten years ago in the heart of the Canal Court Hotel, where two lives unknowingly started to intertwine. Then came the now-famous staff party—where Cara had her eyes set on the Polish boy (who, as it turned out, wasn’t Polish at all but Ukrainian—Oleg!). A few too many drinks, some smooth dance moves, and just like that—sparks flew. Somewhere between the dancing and the laughter, something special began. They didn’t realise it then, but fate had nudged them together. From those slightly blurry beginnings came a whirlwind of love, laughter, and plenty of passport stamps. One of their first and fondest memories was their holiday to Spain—the start of many adventures together, (hence the Spanish wedding destination). From one continent to another, they always managed to find an excuse to squeeze in another trip. Eventually, they decided that holidays weren’t enough—they wanted to live in the sunshine and by the sea. So, they took a leap of faith and moved to Australia. It was a bold decision, filled with excitement, uncertainty, and the promise of something new. There, they built a life and a home on the other side of the world—sharing late-night dinners in their apartment, exploring new cities and beaches hand in hand, and meeting the most amazing friends along the way. Then came the proposal. On a weekend away to Port Stephens, New South Wales, Oleg—ever the planner (and full of surprises)—insisted on an early dinner. Cara, a firm believer in pre-dinner wine and never eating before 7pm, was immediately suspicious. What she didn’t know was that Oleg had secretly organised a photographer to capture the big moment—and the poor lady was waiting by the pier, camera ready, as the sun was quickly setting. The “fully booked restaurant” story was all part of his plan to get Cara out the door before the sunset. When they arrived, the restaurant was completely empty—just the two of them. Cara was still sceptical, but Oleg kept insisting the hotel said there were no later reservations and that it would be lovely to see the sunset by the pier. And, to be fair—it was. As the sky turned gold, Oleg got down on one knee and popped the question. Cara’s first response? “Are you sure?” Followed, thankfully, by a big, beaming “YES!” Now, here they are—still laughing, still dancing, and more in love than ever. Cara loves Oleg’s endless kindness: he gives without hesitation and works hard without complaint. Oleg thinks Cara is his perfect match—strong, kind, and beautiful inside and out. If you’re reading this, it means you hold a special place in their hearts, and they can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with you. So dust off your dancing shoes, raise a glass, and let’s make this a day to remember!
