The Longboard describes themselves as a Carribean-inspired coastal cantina focusing on fresh, local ingredients. It's quaint and laidback and conveniently located in the middle of town. Lance and I spent an afternoon here, and learned that their Frozen Painkillers and Frose are not to be missed! A happy hour (or any hour really) must!
Our fist stop after arriving to the island. It's perfect for casual, lite fare, STRONG rum punches and unbeatable for watching the sunset over Cruz Bay. It's steps away from the ferry dock, boasts a friendly staff and often features live music. Try the Conch Fritters and for those with a high tolerance, the Ocean Runner.
We never actually got to eat here, but we have only heard great things about this place. Lance also met the owners who were great guys. Ingredients are locally grown and menus are printed daily based on the day’s catch and trip to the local markets.
Everytime we asked a local about their favorite restaurants, this one always topped the list! And it did not disappoint. We had an awesome dinner of shared plates paired with some amazing wine. It's small and quiet and intimate and right below an Irish Pub for those looking for a little more to do after dinner.
St John offers so many beautiful public beaches, there is something for everyone. Lance and I only had enough time to get to two of the beaches - Honeymoon Beach and Trunk Bay - while we were visiting, but drove by many of the other beaches that all looked stunning as well.
