The girls will be in Burgundy dresses and the guys will be in Navy suits. For the dress code, think formal wedding, but not black tie. Cocktail dresses or formal long dresses for the girls and suits for the guys would be great. But have fun! I love getting dressed up for weddings, so use it as the opportunity to pull out that dress you love but haven't gotten to wear yet! Normal rules apply for not wearing white, off white, cream. Etc. etc. And, please no jeans or overly casual clothes.
Since we're getting married in the Catholic Church, expect a much longer ceremony than you're used to from other weddings. The mass and ceremony should run about an hour or an hour and fifteen minutes. It is a full mass, so there will be multiple readings, a gospel reading, and the homily, along with communion. If you aren't Catholic just follow along with everyone for when to sit/stand/kneel, and our priest or deacon should also announce it. For communion, if you're not a currently practicing Catholic or aren't Catholic, feel free to either stay in the pew when everyone else goes up for Communion, or you can go up with your arms crossed over your chest and receive a blessing. Here's also a handy video guide on when to sit/stand for the mass! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DFYuzp_yZgv/?igsh=czN4ZnpudTZhb2Zr
The hotel we've chosen to use does have a bar that stays open till 2am on weekends. So after the reception ends feel free to head back there and keep partying!
For anyone coming from out of state, keep in mind that Illinois is on central time. So it’s an hour earlier than most of Indiana.
