— Acquiesce is our favorite winery. Period. They do predominantly white wines, which aren't usually our thing. But every single one we've tried at Acquiesce has been amazing. They're also passionate about how wine pairs with food so your tasting comes with small bites that compliment each wine. Fancy small bites. It's perfect. The owner and winemaker, Susan Tipton, won the 2022 International Woman Winemaker of the Year award. There are very few women winemakers in the US so we love to support it. They also have an excellent wine club that, as members ourselves, we 100% recommend. Can you tell that this is one of our favorite places?
— If you love a good red wine, we suggest a tasting at Macchia. It was first recommended to us by Cara's cousin and chef husband (shoutout Katie & Nick) when we were looking for reds to serve at the wedding. And if we know anything, it's trust Katie & Nick's recommendations. We made a special trip with Cara's parents and all four of the wines in our tasting were top notch. Cara loved the Barbera, Emily loved the Petite Sirah, Barbi loved the Zinfandel, and Bill loved them all.
— If you're looking for more than just wine, consider Five Window. Not only does this family-friendly brewery serve craft beer but they also offer seltzer, local wine, wood-fired pizza, and smash burgers. They also have a golf simulator and a lovely outdoor beer garden.
— The nearby Wine & Roses Resort has a lovely spa. Surrounded by tranquil gardens, W&R has consistently been named one of the Top Spas in America. From aromatherapy and herbal foot baths to signature massages and facials, every treatment is designed to soothe and restore. We'll certainly be spending some time there before saying 'I do.'
