Our Love Story

#friendstolovers

Cara and David met in 2018 one Sunday at Kings Church of Christ, where they slowly became friends. Over time, they discovered a shared love for photography and video production, which led them to collaborate on a few creative projects together. At this time they were both in relationships and were just really cool friends. In November of 2020, Cara decided to leave New York for a while, unsure of when she would return. Around that time, David reached out to ask if she needed help moving. That thoughtful moment marked a shift in their friendship, and when Cara moved away, their text conversations began to happen more often. While living in two different states, one day they realized they were both watching a chess show called The Queen’s Gambit. Cara mentioned wanting to learn how to play chess, and David, being a chess pro, offered to teach her. He suggested doing a FaceTime call so he could explain the rules better. That single call turned into many, and soon, the conversations moved far beyond chess. They began talking nearly every day, secretly falling for each other and growing closer despite the distance. In January 2021, Cara moved back to Brooklyn, and David was there to pick her up from the airport. From that first day back, they were inseparable and went on their first real date on Valentines Day 2-14-21. Now, Cara and David are preparing to be married! Both grateful for a love that began patiently, grew intentionally, and continues to be guided by keeping God first in everything they do. They look forward to beginning this next chapter surrounded by their closest friends and family.
