Austin and Cara first crossed paths in geometry class in 2012, where his first words to her were, "You don't talk much, do you?" From that moment, she set out to prove him wrong. Their love story began during her sophomore year of high school and his junior year, and they joyfully shared their high school years together. For five years, they navigated a long-distance relationship, traveling four hours to be together despite being in different time zones. During that time, Austin became a journeyman electrician, and Cara earned her bachelor's and master's degrees. In the spring of 2022, the distance finally closed when Cara moved to Cincinnati, where they started their lives together in their first apartment. Their love story took a wonderful turn in May 2024 when Austin proposed on their favorite beach. That summer, they added another layer of love to their lives by adopting Zip, a deaf, rescue toy poodle who has since stolen their hearts. December 6 holds a lot of meaning to them, as it just so happens to be their dating anniversary. On their wedding day, they will also celebrate 11 years together!
