Hotel
The Pontchartrain is a famous historic residential building turned hotel located on Saint Charles Ave, only a few blocks away from Magazine. It was named the #1 Hotel in New Orleans by Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 Reader’s Choice Awards. The hotel's Hot Tin Rooftop bar has the most stunning panoramic view of the city. We hope to share a drink with you here at some point during the weekend. There is also the hotel restaurant, Jack Rose with a fun and eclectic atmosphere, and The Silver Whistle, a very cute and charming café. This would be where you get your morning coffee as it is not provided in the room. Being an historic building, the hotel is older. Updated in 2016 but the old charm remains. Check out their website for more info! We have blocked rooms here for the 6th and 7th. Just a block away from the Pontchartrain on Prytania Street, the Henry Howard is an upscale 18-room boutique hotel. The house was built in 1867 but has been reimagined with a modern twist while still holding the history and classic New Orleans tradition. If you’re looking for a quieter stay, this is the place to be. The Henry Howard is not a bed & breakfast but they do have an included continental breakfast usually of assorted pastries and fruit. The front desk doubles as the hotel bar. The front porch is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail.

House Or Rental
There are many beautiful and accommodating homes on airbnb in the Garden District near our wedding venue. il Mercato is located in the Lower Garden District, stay within this neighborhood if you would like to be walking distance
Hotel
This Hampton Inn was recently updated in 2016 and is also located on Saint Charles Ave about a mile up from our other recommendations. Though not in as close proximity as the others, this is still a great option, especially if you would like a pool and not have to worry about breakfast! And is a great excuse to hop on the streetcar. **Pools in New Orleans are typically small due to space. The pool at this Hampton Inn is long and narrow, about the width of one lane.

We know some of you may want to experience staying in or closer to the French Quarter rather than being in the quieter Garden District. Here are some of our recommendations! The Ace Hotel - Modern and luxurious, located in the Warehouse District just outside the quarter. Though we have never been here, this was a venue option we looked into. The hotel has great reviews and a hip rooftop pool and bar. https://www.acehotel.com/neworleans/ The Omni Royal Orleans - If you know you love Omni hotels, this is a great option. The hotel has a rooftop pool with a fun view of the city and has everything you’d expect from the Omni. https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/new-orleans-royal-orleans The Monteleone - Home of the famous Carousel Bar! https://hotelmonteleone.com/ If you have found something else please feel free to reach out to see if we have any first hand info we can provide.
Travel Note
Uber is extremely easy and they are not short of them in the city of New Orleans. Rates are very affordable. Between the Lower Garden District and the French Quarter the average rate is about $7-$8. It is also easy to hop on the Saint Charles Streetcar. It is $1.25 one way to go any distance and you will need exact change. The Saint Charles Street Car line travels from the edge of the French Quarter all the way down beautiful St. Charles Avenue, then onto tree-lined South Carrollton Avenue. In addition to the Saint Charles streetcar there are 3 other streetcar lines. The Canal Street line (covering the Cemeteries and City Park), the Riverfront line (currently serviced by the Canal lines), and the Rampart line. All lines either run along or intersect with Canal Street in the area between the French Quarter and the Central Business District.
Travel Note
The city heard you were all coming and built a brand new airport opening just in time for your arrival! The new airport officially opens May 15th, 2019.
