How we met

02-04-2015

John and Caprice met on the dating app "Okcupid". Caprice, after many a threat of "you better create a profile or I will create one for you" from our dearest friend and now bridesmaid Chloe. Caprice posted her profile picture dressed as Harley Quinn from the Batman series, with no real expectations of anything good happening and many an expectation of several messages from weirdos. The very first message came from John which said: "Hello Ms. Quinn, have you found your joker yet?" The rest, as they say, was history!

The Proposal

11-22-2018

It was thanksgiving day at Caprice and John's home in Suffolk, VA. Caprice was exhausted after a night of cooking and staying awake to wait for her parents to get in from Delaware. Her friend (and bridesmaid) was over with her husband and children to celebrate as well, the week before Caprice and John had also got the children some cool gifts as a thanksgiving surprise. Little did Caprice know that it was all a ruse to distract her. When they bring the gifts out the kids are going ballistic, and everyone is recording, which (in Caprice's head) is reasonable because the kids are super excited. Caprice is on the floor trying to help open the gifts, when John then says "we have to pop these balloons first", so Caprice tells him to go ahead. So John pops the balloons one by one until he gets to the last balloon, which is bright red. At this point John is down on one knee, however, Caprice can not tell this because she is still on the floor. John exclaims "there's something in this balloon!" Caprice and her bug phobia automatically think that there is a critter in there so she backs away slightly, John is not so easily discouraged. He lets the air out slowly and out drops a ring. He doesn't even have to ask the question before Caprice is screaming at the top of her lungs.

The Wedding

12-11-2020

Due to the status of the COVID-19 pandemic, John and Caprice were married on December 11th, 2020, in a small chapel on Fort Hood Army Base, in Killeen Texas. In attendance were John's parents, David and Barbara Architzel, and Caprice's parents Earl and Monique Williams along with several friends and leadership of John's Army command. The military tradition of the sabre arches was enacted to celebrate the momentous occasion.
