Katherine and Shane first met during their freshman year of high school in 2006. Katherine went to private school at Red Bank Catholic (Go Casey's!) and Shane went to public school at Red Bank Regional (Go Bucs!). They met through mutual friends and would see each other at football games, parties, the beach, and they even attended the same prom. Katherine also worked the front desk at the Driftwood Cabana Beach Club where Shane was a member, and he would take every chance to flirt with her when signing in. Although Shane failed on his first attempt on a movie night mutual friends had set them up on, Katherine and Shane had their “first kiss” on the 4th of July event in Red Bank during one summer in high school.

Fast forward to 2014, a small group of us that were friends during high school reconnected post-grad and started hanging out on football Sundays and going to Red Bank together. On New Year's Eve that year, while Katherine was in NYC with friends and Shane was in Vermont skiing with family, Shane asked Katherine to be his girlfriend (after a couple drinks and a nudge from his brother). Over the course of the past 8 years, we have made it through a year of long-distance, moved into our first apartment together, had a ton of pizza Fridays, and traveled to all sorts of places like New Orleans, Charleston, Punta Cana, and Boston where Shane popped the question.

On December 17th, 2021 Shane invited Katherine to tag along on an impromptu work trip up to Boston where his company is based with only a few days' notice. While taking a walk along the iconic Fan Pier Park waiting for Shane’s “coworker” to meet them for lunch he asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. Thank you for your ongoing love and support. We are so excited to share this day with you and look forward to dancing the night away with all of our favorite people!
