When we first saw each other, Dominic thought the blue-haired Angela was way too cool for him, while Angela thought that the girl sitting next to Dominic was his girlfriend (it was his cousin actually). Fortunately, only one of those things was true. A couple months later, we met again at a mutual friend's wedding (WOWZERSSS). We wish we could say we met under very romantic circumstances where we danced the night away, but honestly Angela was desperately looking for a drinking buddy and Dominic happened to be right there. This semi-chance re-meetup of convenience combined with mutual beer goggles eventually blossomed into a committed relationship full of food, travel turned COVID co-isolation, and even more food. We even managed to purchase a home together in the middle of the pandemic (not to mention the crazy housing market!), making it much more difficult to escape from each other. All being said, we are thankful for the support of all the family and friends around us. With all of you, our relationship is even more fulfilling and loving. We look forward to our continuing journey together with you all!

Angela had been suspiciously dropping hints that her life aspiration was to be Dominic's main beneficiary (take note, true crime fans). Therefore, Dominic completed a full criminal background check of Angela before designing a ring that would temporarily distract Angela from her beneficiary goal. The design encompassed Angela's love of all things Totoro (and anime in general) as well as included an appreciation of her family history with plum blossoms (her family name). With the weapon in hand (Totoro's ears are quite pointy), Dominic took advantage of the first date night since COVID started to propose in front of the new home. Under the guise of taking a nice picture where we weren't in our standard scrubby COVID dress code, Dominic took a video of the proposal, capturing the surprise and spectacular fail when he said "I know we are perfect people, but we are not perfect for each other." Luckily, Angela already understood how perfect Dominic was, so there was only minimal groveling for her to accept the engagement. And now here we are!
