We're getting married!

When a Bay Area native living in Oregon messaged a woman from his hometown on an online dating website, he didn’t know that she already had plans to visit Portland in the next month. Quickly, they broke the unspoken rules of online dating of being coy and not investing too much too soon. They sent paragraphs through text, spent hours talking on the phone everyday and they knew what they found was a genuine connection worth pursuing. In April 2019, Kathy flew to Portland, Oregon with a few friends in tow. They spent their first day exploring while Kathy and Brian made plans to meet that evening. Brian came to pick up Kathy for drinks and dinner in downtown Portland. One night turned into six consecutive days of dates seeing the most beautiful hikes and waterfalls, eating and drinking all the decadence that the Pacific Northwest had to offer and growing closer to one another with every passing second. At the end of the week, any qualms they had about starting a long distance relationship were squashed when they both agreed to commit to seeing where this relationship could go. After two years of countless flights and many road-trips to meet in the middle while braving traveling through the pandemic, Brian made the move back to San Jose. They finally had the traditional relationship where they could experience more time together than apart, spending time with each others family and friends. Their love not only thrived, but it flourished. Brian decided to take Kathy on a trip to Yosemite in February 2023, where they spent a weekend hiking in one of the world’s most beautiful places. At the end of their trip, they decided to take one last short hike to Mirror Lake where he got down on one knee to propose. Kathy said yes to forever with Brian, the most treasured Diamond she will ever have.
