As most of our family and close friends know, we went to high school together. So that's where we met if we want to get technical. But a couple of years after college is how we really met. We both ended up at the same good old Delco bar (Barnaby's) meeting up with some mutual friends from high school. Next thing you know - we're jokingly dancing on the dance floor and just having a good time. I guess he couldn't stop thinking about my great dance moves that the following week Jaymes texted me asking if I was around to grab drinks that coming Friday - I said yes, and I guess after that night we both thought, "This could really be something."
We were in Rehobeth Beach on family vacation. As most of you know, Jaymes is a pretty simple guy, and I knew that meant if and whenever he did propose - it would be very laid back and simple. We had gone to watch the sunrise on August 18th, 2022 on Dewey Beach and Jaymes had the ring in his pocket - but he didn't propose. Later that day we went on a 16 mile bike ride - still didn't propose. And then even later that day - we went out for drinks and dancing with the family - still didn't propose. We then got home and were still hanging out until 3 AM and I decided it was time for bed and went to brush my teeth and wash my makeup off, only to come out of the bathroom with Jaymes on one knee and the ring in his hand. It doesn't get more simple and intimate than that! Our story is simple, our love is simple, and we are so excited to celebrate it with you all here in Dewey Beach!
