Candice M.

Maid of Honor

My sister, my best friend, my guiding light. She's been there for me, literally, since birth and there is no one I want more to stand directly by my side as DJ and I become one. There are so many memories with this lady, but my fondest memory with Candice is... you guessed it, all of them. The trips all over the States, bonding after her time at the Real HU, the birthdays, and even the disagreements. It all made me who I am.

Denzel L.

Best Man

My brother and my partner in crime (literally and figuratively depending on whom you ask). I was so excited when he was born because my sister was too cool to play with me anymore (lol). He looked up to me growing up and that was the best motivation to keep me on the straight and narrow. He's been my shadow for 24 years and I couldn't imagine having a better little brother to annoy and share countless great memories with. There are far too many memories to recall. All the random boring weekends chilling playing video games and laughing at things that aren't funny to anyone else. We were our own personal comedy show.

Amanda C.

Bridesmaid

My grounding element. We met in a pre-freshman STEM program. She has been such a dope motivator, party partner, and study buddy throughout school and beyond. My fondest memory with Amanda is my trip to NJ for her birthday where we had so many adventures.

Chaise S.

Groomsman

Brittany B.

Bridesmaid

My forever partner and so much more. We met in PE class freshman year and have been tight ever since. She's been by my side through it all and never let me feel alone. My fondest memories with Brittany were coming over her house after school and just hanging out with lots of laughter filling the air.

Cameron S.

Groomsman

My Brother from another. I honestly don't recall when I first met Cam, that's how long he's been in my life. We grew up in Church together singing in the choir. We used to laugh and joke in the pews and get in trouble by our grandmothers. We used to try to coordinate who would ask who's parents to sleep over. We were successful most of the time. Far too many memories together to pinpoint a specific one. The countless sleepovers playing Xbox and play station, playing ball at Vets park, to watching funny videos on the internet and laughing to the sun rose.

Brittney G.

Bridesmaid

The jelly to my peanut butter because she has all the flavor. This lady has so much good energy and love to give to me and my family, and has been family since 2nd grade. This dope supportive woman is amazing, smart and fiesty. My fondest memories with Brittney are every birthday, every downfall, every celebration of each other, and every event that has led to such a lasting and supportive friendship.

Julian M.

Groomsman

The mover and shaker. I first met Julian in Drew Hall freshman year at Howard. Apart from destroying him in Nba 2k, we became close friends. He always knows someone, who knows someone that gets us into any establishment or soiree. While the crew rags on him for being a self-proclaimed chef and ladies man (lol jk bro), he’s a great friend. My fondest memory with Julian would have to be going out on a random Saturday night and getting into clubs for free because he Jedi mind tricked the bouncers. I don't know how he does it.

Caralanay C.

Bridesmaid

The myth and the legend. She was the girl across the street and a true friend from the beginning. The only friendship that was cultivated while not seeing each other almost every day. This amazing woman taught me how to be a true friend while apart and together. My fondest memories with Caralanay are all the laughs, all the concerts, roller skating Saturdays, Sims playing, and listening to the Ashanti Christmas album while playing video games or pool.

Kristopher N.

Groomsman

Kris and Canisha’s friendship goes wayyyyy back to high school. I first met Kris about 4 years ago during a trip to Chicago. I had been hearing about him for years prior, and I must say his reputation preceded him. In a good way of course. We laughed, drank and quite possibly ate the best burgers I've ever had in my life. We hit it off great and I can see why they have been great friends for so long. I hope to create many more great memories with him in the years to come.

Jasmine W.

Bridesmaid

My ride or die 'til the end of times and forever more. Always there when I need it and even when I don't. My future nurse has an amazing way of building me up and never letting me down, because we glow together. My fondest memory with Jasmine is this lady coming all the way to DC to watch lil' ole' me walk across the stage to get my diploma from The Mecca as she cheered (and I mean Cheered) me on!

Liu J.

Groomsman

I like to say that Liu has a complicated relationship with punctuality, but when he shows up you're bound to have a good time. I first met Liu through Alex during our freshman year at Howard (seeing a trend here). He would come over to our room to play games and hang with Colin. My fondest memory would have to be driving home from a late night of clubbing before my graduation and being locked out of Alex’s apartment (shame on him). We ended up sleeping in the hallway. I made it to my commencement though, sunglasses in hand.

Maribel B.

Bridesmaid

The epitome of fun. This is the person that has taught me how amazing it is to be uniquely and truly yourself. One of the few people who made all those days in high school so much easier. My fondest memory with Maribel was our trip to Vegas. My first "adult" trip to Vegas was something that I will never forget with a person I truly love. I also enjoy the memories of her running from Brittney G.'s hugs, haha.

Alex P.

Groomsman

The Roommate. I first met Alex freshman year at Howard. This story could have turned out MUCH differently. Many people don't end up liking their freshman roommate let alone becoming best friends. We both went through the freshman blues together. We would stay up late playing Madden and eating takeout, that was clearly bad for us. We end up having a mandatory study hall together, and learned the error in our ways and became model students after that. We've been friends ever since. My fondest memory would have to be spending long weekends and spring breaks in Delaware at his house. We had GREAT kickbacks there.

Patrice C.

Bridesmaid

My future sister-in-law and already a friend. My fondest memory with Patrice is spending the Christmas holiday getting closer. I look forward to the many more memories to come!
