Centro
El Centro de Cuernavaca is a 15 minute uber ride from the hacienda (or the front desk can call a car for you). There is a center square and a surrounding food market that has some of the best street tacos you can find. There is also an artist market (Cuernavaca is known for its silver — bring cash!!!), and the Museo Regional del Pueblo de Morelos (aka Palacio de Cortes) which highlights the different historical periods of this area. The city center is small but there are still plenty of bars and restaurants to wander into!
Tepoztlán
There are several pueblos around Cuernavaca, including Tepoztlan which is known so thoroughly for its beauty that it is deemed ‘one of Mexico’s magical towns’. You’ll find local artisan markets, delicious food, and historical archeological hikes. This is about a 40 minute drive from the hacienda, and the front desk will happily arrange transportation to make this happen for you!
