Our Story

January 2020

In life, we all take roads in one direction or another. Sometimes those roads converge, sometimes they diverge, and sometimes they stay steady with other people on our journey through life. From the first sip of coffee to the trip down the West Coast, there hasn't been a moment where our roads haven't been side-by-side. Time is a commodity we can never reacquire, so we spend the time we have together as much as possible. We met for coffee on our first date at Radio Coffee in Austin, TX. As the world shut down, we put our new relationship to the test and moved in together. Through the trials of the pandemic, adopting a puppy, and pushing our career goals to new possibilities, we have been side-by-side ever since and are excited to see what the future holds for us...together! In some way, shape, or form, each member of our family and friends has helped shape our journey. Even though we are all on different paths in life, we want to take this moment to bring everyone together and show each of you how much we care about you, the best way we know how: by spending time together.

The Proposal

October 2022

The original plan was one of best intentions and romantic cinematography. Unlike a movie, not everything can work perfectly. That's real life and real love, with all its imperfections. After struggling to hide the ring and fibbing about why I brought the tripod along, our coastal road trip began. After witnessing some of the most amazing views down the California coast, we finally cleared the clouds and found a small cliff on the central coast to enjoy the afternoon sun. We stopped to take a video of our adventure, or at least Sam thought that's all we were doing. While we took in the beautiful landscape, I had a secret surprise. As we stared off into the Pacific and enjoyed the cool breeze, I leaned in and said, "This is nice, I'm having fun," Sam replied, "Me too." I then turned to Sam, pulled out a small wooden box, took out a ring, and asked, "Do you want to keep having fun?" Completely shocked, all Sam could come up with in response was, "Are you serious?" Celebrate the next chapter of our story in Durango, CO!
