First a little background: Cody was raised as an only child. Cody attended Clover Lutheran and eventually transferred to Lighthouse Christian School where he graduated in 2010. Cody went on to work in California and came back to work for his dad at Precision Automotive. Kaitlyn was raised with one younger brother. She attended Canyonside Christian School, transferred to Immanuel Lutheran School, and transferred to Twin Falls Christian Academy where she graduated in 2011. She moved to Boise, had a son, Ryker, and moved back to the Magic Valley. Cody and Kaitlyn met on Match.com when Kaitlyn made the first move and reached out to Cody in July 2017. They talked for a few days on match, slowly started texting thanks to Cody giving her his number, and then one phone call. Now, anyone who knows Cody, knows he does NOT like talking on the phone. Period. Even now Kaitlyn can only get him to say 1 or 2 sentences before he is ready to hang up. Their first phone conversation was 4.5 hours. Yes you read that correctly... 4.5 hours. They decided it was time to meet face to face. They agreed to see a movie on July 10, a Monday night, after work. On a whim, they also decided to grab dinner before the movie. When they met for the first time, instead of a handshake, Cody went straight for a hug. They had dinner at 6:15 and were to the movies by 7. After the movie got out, they sat in Cody's car and talked even more. Kaitlyn didnt get home until after midnight that night. Kaitlyn and Cody have been inseperable since. During one of their early conversations on Match, Kaitlyn knew Cody grew up in the area and wanted to share a Christian comedy clip with Cody but didnt know how well versed he was with the Bible. The conversation went something along the lines of: K: "How well do you know the Bible?" C: "I'd say I'm pretty well versed as I graduated from private school." K: "Wait! You went to private school? You had to have gone to Lighthouse!" C: "How do you know that?" K: "Because I graduated from TFCA and there was only one other private high school in Twin Falls at that time." C: " You went to TFCA!? My cousin went to TFCA." Needless to say, Kaitlyn did in fact know his cousin that went to TFCA. Now, at the meet his parents BBQ, Kaitlyn had the pleasure of meeting Cody's Aunt and Uncle who were from Wendell. (Keep in mind, this is where Kaitlyn grew up.) They got to talking and discovered Kaitlyn went to a youth group with another of Cody's cousins. Fast forward to Kaitlyn telling her parents all about Cody and his family. Kaitlyns mom used to work case management for the hospital and Cody's mom was the go to person at the pharmacy for Kaitlyn's mom. When Kaitlyn's found out what shop Cody's family owned, they thought the name sounded familiar. Come to find out, Precision Automotive was the shop that finally fixed Kaitlyn's brother's truck. The rest is history.
