We’re getting married!

While working at Flywheel Digital, Slack Donut pairs you with a coworker for a coffee and donut. Instead, Walt asked if I wanted to get happy hour. We spent a few hours getting to know each other outside of work and having some drinks. A few months later we ran into each other out at our local bars with friends but went back to Walts for a drink after. When we hugged as I left, I grabbed Walts butt and from then on, he said “it’s on”

On Walt’s birthday he caught me off guard and said, “we should go ring shopping.” We’d had the conversation about next steps before but it caught me off guard. We went to brunch in DC Labor Day weekend with our friends and then went ring shopping after. Walt bought the ring on the spot and I knew the date it was supposed to be delivered so naturally I started driving Walt nuts about getting it. A month later, Walt asked if we could try a new restaurant and bring our friend, Bernie. I had absolutely no idea he was going to propose, so when he said “hey Candice” before I walked in the restaurant and I turned around to him being down on one knee, I was shocked. Bernie had been hanging back and took a ton of photos and celebrated with us at dinner.

We are so excited to share our love with our closest friends and family. We will be exchanging our vows in front of our immediate family and bridal party. Our reception will start at 6pm (arrive between 545 and 6), please join us as we eat, drink, and celebrate our marriage. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at The Heron Room.
