Candice and Jordan initially met in 2010 during their undergrad study at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. He was a freshman studying IT, and she was a junior studying New Media Design. One day, Candice and Jordan crossed paths at The Commons, one of the many campus restaurants. At the time, Candice needed new music for her IPod, so seeing that Jordan was wearing Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, she assumed he could help. She approached and asked if he could help transfer new music to her device. And being a Rap & R&B fanatic himself, of course he said yes. Not to mention, he could never pass up the chance of being acquainted with a beautiful upperclassmen women like Candice. From there, they exchanged numbers and Facebook information to meet up at a later time. After doing her the favor, Jordan and Candice remained platonic friends, getting to know one another either by texting or randomly running into each other around campus from time to time. Surprisingly, communication between the two persisted through the years. Keeping each other in the friendzone worked out so well for two reasons: 1 ) Candice couldn’t yet face the judgement of peers for being attracted to a man younger than her. 2) Jordan simply didn’t have enough game, nor was he mature enough to enter a committed relationship with a real woman. Fast-forward 9 years later to 2018, the haters no longer phased Candice and Jordan finally decided that he was man-enough to come correct. So he asked Candice on a romantic date, swept her off her feet, and they fell deeply in love shortly thereafter. They decided to make it official on November 4th, 2018, and Jordan proposed to her on the same day—2 years later. Who knew that a random music request would end in true love! They’re so thankful that God brought them together when the timing was right. Here’s a video sharing how their engagement proposal went: https://youtu.be/P1M6U8zJoOw
